LPR (Large Print) Collection
Large Print is defined as print that is at least 16 points in size with adequate letter and word spacing. LPR books are available in Adult Services and have the same loan periods as regular print books. We divide our LPR collection into three genres:
Audio Books on CD
The Lisle Library provides audio books (“spoken word”) on CD for both adult and youth patrons. An audio book is a recording of text being read aloud. We carry both abridged and unabridged titles.
Downloadable Digital Audio/eBooks
Using eMediaLibrary, our online eBook platform, download best-selling digital audiobooks & eBooks 24/7 to your PC at home, in the office, or transfer titles to your portable device.
To learn more about how to download media, visit our eLibrary page.
e-Reader Devices (Nooks & Kindles)
Adult Services and Youth Services have genre specific and age appropriate e-reader devices available for check-out. Some devices have a text-to-sound option and all devices allow patrons to increase text size.
On the Adult Services floor we have a selection of illuminated magnifiers in the public seating area. These lamps add illumination and strong magnification to enhance the ability to read small print.

This reader is a wonderful resource for patrons with low vision or for those of us who just need something magnified.

Lisle Lions Club Donation
Because of the wonderful donation and generosity from the Lisle Lions Club, the Library is proud to provide equipment for our low vision patrons. These items are for use on our lower level in the Adult Services department.
